Now that you have started writing your complaint, everything will get very intense very quickly. And you’re going to feel sick and uncomfortable for a large portion of the next few months. It helps to have processes in place to take care of everything. Here is what I recommend:

Take a break before you complain

I recommend maxing out all your vacation days before you complain. May as well right? There’s a good chance you’ll still have to quit the job — what are you wasting your breaks for?

Even if you choose to stick around, it helps to take a break, think about the shit storm that is approaching and steel yourself.

My recommendation is a solo beach vacation.

Get a therapist

Your friends will be great throughout, but a therapist will do so much more to keep you sane.

Sometimes you will have to think though situations and it’s easier when you have someone to talk to. Sometimes you’ll be left in the dark and plagued with constant anxiety. And sometimes you'll feel like you are the problem. It helps to have someone to talk to.

Find the perfect distractions

After making a complaint, the days will be long and the nights longer. A few sources of mindless distraction can really do some wonders. You can make a list of TV shows, movies and books you need to catch up. Long walks are great too — they'll help you sleep better in the night!
