When I said that this section was about being an ally, you assumed I meant an ally of the victim didn't you?

In this day and age, we value diversity and inclusion. Especially the inclusion of rich, powerful, predators.

So you must not cut them out of your life or treat them any differently than you have so far. It will be hard, but it can be done. And here is how:

Remember that sexual misconduct is only a minor flaw.

Everyone has a flaw and your dear friend does not care about other people. That is okay. That is not a good enough reason to stop talking to someone. Accept them fully for who they are.

In fact, maybe you can help them find their next victim!

Let them resign

You cannot, under any circumstances, tarnish their perfect resume! They don't need this on their record! How will they ever survive. So make it look like leaving was their choice.

And while you're at it, you should keep their picture and bio up on the team page of your website for as long as you can get away with it. We don't want to lose out on any form of signalling now, do we?

Throw them a big farewell. And add a cash bonus.

Google did this best, they paid Andy Rubin $90 million after he was fired for sexual misconduct.

Nowadays, you can't get away with keeping an abuser on your team, you don't actually have to treat them poorly.

You can let them have a big emotional farewell, you can help them cover up all their lies and you can give them a cash bonus for all the inconveniences they are experiencing.
